WL Resident Advisory Council

The Walden Lake Advisory Council (WLRAC) was formed at the request of the WLCA in an effort to assist Walden Lake residents in achieving the best possible outcome with regards to future development within our community. The intention is to serve as a conduit of information between the residents of Walden Lake, the homeowners association (WLCA) and the development company (Walden Lake LLC) who purchased the golf course property.

A firm named Walden Lake LLC which is operated by a group from the Boca Raton/Miami area. They are associated with a group named GNCR DEVELOPMENTS LLC and GNCR AMERICAS LLC which is also associated with  ZAYOUN GROUP LLC. The group is active in land development and multifamily development. One of the properties they have claimed to manage is The Majestic at Downtown Baldwin Park in Orlando.

Currently a large portion of the property is zoned residential with some small portions zoned Conservation. The property is part of a registered “Planned Community” so even though it is zoned residential, its use was set up for recreation. In order for the new owners to develop this property into something else they will need to submit a zoning change request. This will trigger a series of notices and zoning meetings for the owners to present and discuss the changes with the City of Plant City and residents of Walden Lake.

Currently, nothing has been proposed. Walden Lake, LLC, Walden Lake Community Association and the Walden Lake Resident Advisory Council are in discussions currently to determine what might be acceptable. WLCA nor WLRAC have any power to control the developers change requests and that decision will be up to the City of Plant city and the residents of Walden Lake. We are in discussions with the developer only to share ideas and to derive some community opinion of what we will accept as the developer tries to integrate their plans into Our Community. As plans become available and are submitted to The City of Plant City there will be posted submissions on Plant City’s web site and also on the WaldenLake.org web site. If you are a registered user of the WaldenLake.org website you will receive an email notification around 3:00PM if any information is posted to the WaldenLake.org site.
